Diversity & Inclusion 2021 (Online)

16. March 2021
kl. 13.00 - 16.00

How do we create a diverse and inclusive culture?

For many years, there has been a focus on creating diverse and inclusive jobs in the Danish labor market. Research shows that the companies that put D&I on the agenda and are able to promote and live a diverse and inclusive workplace, increase success and profitability.

The corona crisis has led to increased unemployment and a number of bankrupt companies. For this reason, it is – more than ever before – necessary for the remaining companies to be able to create innovative solutions in order to maintain their position in the market. However, diversity strategies should not only gain greater acceptance in the Danish labor market to ensure innovation. An inclusive culture is also of great importance for the mental work environment. But how do you create an inclusive culture in a workplace – a community? And especially if the employees work more from home? Is it even necessary to create a diverse workplace? Do we not feel more comfortable if we are similar?

At this event, knowledge from research as well as experiences from the business community will be exchanged. In addition, you have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other people who have an interest in HR. So if you want to gain insight into how companies can contribute constructively to the D&I issue in a corona time, this is an event you must not miss!

The day will consist of various reflections on the D&I agenda:

  • Barriers in Recruitment and Promotion Processes v. Professor Sara Louise Muhr, CBS

Despite the fact that studies show that diverse teams and workplaces create better results, and can be seen on the bottom line, we still tend to hire people who are similar to ourselves, and this sets a barrier for more diverse recruitment. Based on her many years of research in diversity and inclusion in organizations, Sara will discuss barriers as well as concrete tools for more diverse recruitment, retention and promotion.

  • D&I at all organizational levels v. Anja Rose, Maersk Drilling

Anja will give us an insight into how D&I has been made one of the organization’s 3 pillars. Top management involvement is an explicit part of the strategy for good D&I in Maerks Drilling. For Maersk Drilling, it is about more than having diverse teams. Diversity must work in practice and this places even greater demands on the organization’s leaders. The organization has incorporated the world goals in their D&I work and is in the process of anchoring D&I at all organizational levels from top management to drillworkers.

  • Active allyship in D&I v. Dr. Poornima Luthra, TalentED

Becoming more inclusive to diverse talent begins with each and every one of us. In this talk, we will explore the biggest barrier to inclusion – bias and take a dive into unpacking our own biases, conscious and unconscious and take a look at micro-aggressions. We will then look at what we can all do to be an active ally of inclusion.

  • Inclusion and Diversity at Nestlé v. Adeline Looi, Nestlé

Adeline will talk about her experience with building and leading diverse & multi-cultural high performing teams. Furthermore, she will introduce us to the work that Nestlé does in regards to diversity and inclusion.

  • Diversity of Inclusion v. Mette Nørr Gantzhorn, Head of Global Inclusion & Well-Being, Ørsted

At Ørsted they talk about “Diversity of Inclusion”, and the work of creating a diverse and inclusive culture goes far beyond policies and KPIs. In addition to giving us an insight into Ørsted’s approach to the diversity challenges, Mette will focus on what is up and down in the general diversity discussion. The theme has many buzz words and the question is, what is important? What should we focus on if we want to succeed with our D&I initiatives?
