Embodied leadership – Sustainability for managers and employees in HR
A dominant perspective in today's organizations is that we can achieve more by running faster. But the truth is that the faster we run and work, the more habitually we act and the less present we become. It has a price. Dominant habits inhibit courage and absence creates insecurity in the relationship and, over time, meaninglessness and stress.
So what do we do?
The times call for new ways of being in working life, and new ways of working with development and learning. Embodied Leadership is a bid for that. Through using the body as a learning field, presence, attention and courage are strengthened. Attention to see the draining and stagnant habits. Courage to break with them and to be present and see and listen and thus strengthen trust in relationships.
With the bodily learning, we bring the theory from a thought about what e.g. trust is, to a rooted experience of how trust is felt and what it takes to invite to a trusting space.
