Health day - Hack the organization's health!

Society faces major challenges in relation to our health. Our lifestyle with limited physical activity and easy access to unhealthy foods has led to an increase in lifestyle diseases, while mental disorders such as stress continue to be seen as an increasing problem. This development threatens society's most important capital – the workforce. There is a need for a concerted effort to increase the population's health – physically and mentally.

The workplaces of the future therefore play a central role in prioritizing and investing in employees' health and well-being. As a place where we spend a large part of our time and maintain important social relationships, it is a suitable arena for health promotion initiatives.

*No-show fee: DKK 450 when canceling after 19 September at 12:00. Further information see below.

Why focus on mental and physical health? Here are just a few examples:

  • Ballisager's candidate analysis from 2023 shows that candidates consider stress prevention and companies' co-responsibility for employees' physical health as more important parameters than, for example, that the company is at the forefront of technological development, acts climate-consciously, etc.
  • Research shows that an investment in health-promoting initiatives at the workplace can significantly reduce sickness absence.
  • Health schemes also contribute to increased employee satisfaction and commitment.
  • When employees experience that their employer prioritizes their health and well-being, they feel more valued and motivated to give their best.

This can result in higher productivity, fewer sick days and lower staff turnover, all of which are beneficial to the company's bottom line.

Does that sound interesting?

Get ready for an enriching day with NOCA's Health Day, where you will be presented with a wide range of presentations from both practitioners and experts in the health field. From practical initiatives to more general perspectives on health, the day will offer an exciting mix of insight and inspiration.

Today's focus:

Our invitation will be continuously updated with more exciting speakers and their areas of focus. So far we have received confirmation from ATP, the National Research Center for Working Environment and BIOhackers/High performance coaches.

There will be a walk on the program, so remember to dress for the weather!

ATP – Case

Maria Vahr Glorvigen talks about two concrete cases that show how ATP works strategically with health initiatives. You can look forward to hearing about ATP's first experiences with a Health Week and how they have reduced pregnant women's sick leave. Get direct insight into their initiatives and their impact!

Physical working environment

The psychological working environment is of great importance for employees' health and well-being and for their ability to solve their work tasks. In this presentation, Thomas Clausen talks about what the psychological working environment is and points out, in particular, why it is important to make an effort around the psychological working environment and what you need to pay particular attention to when you start a working environment effort at his workplace.

Research and action proposals

Sussanne Grøn will share her research and practical examples as well as suggestions for action based on experiences from Nordsjællandshospital with 4000 employees. Her presentation will focus on how middle managers can implement exercise during working hours, despite limited resources and leeway. The post will first focus on research and then implementation.

BIOhacking

Jeanette Oxlund Jeanette Oxlund and Nickolai Damgaard will talk about their work with physical and mental health in Danish companies. The very special thing about their work is that they work with anonymised KPIs, so that you and your company can more precisely identify where the need is.
In the second part of their presentation, they will give a taste of some of the measures they work with in the companies, which you can take home with you and easily start implementing. Look forward to calmness and fast creation of energy!

Effective Approaches to Health Support: E-Learning, Return to Work, and Leadership Skills

In this presentation, Naomi Rosenberg, Occupational Health Physician at Novo Nordisk, shares her practical experiences in promoting employee health at Novo Nordisk. Naomi will introduce how they support, educate and guide both managers and HR Business Partners in how they can support employees who are affected by health challenges, both physical and psychological. The presentation includes a review of their e-learning material, which assists managers in supporting employees, e.g. on return after illness, which is part of their "return to work" concept. In addition, Naomi will provide insight into Novo Nordisk's internal job clarification process for employees who, due to health challenges, find it difficult to maintain their current job, as well as briefly talk about their new course for managers on "The difficult health-related conversation".

Today's presenters:
