I wish my boss was a chief (Physical)
How to get the leaders we deserve!
A good leader today must be a listener, attentive, empathetic and – most importantly – use their power with respect for the community rather than their own interests. This is the starting point of the book “If my boss were a chief” by Christian Groes and Dennis Nørmark.
The latter will visit us at NOCA when we hold an inspiring event focusing on innovative leadership – based on the 'old days' and the way chiefs exercise leadership among indigenous peoples and in tribal societies.”
The book challenges the poor management that characterizes many modern workplaces and lives. In today's Denmark, there is a need for leaders to take a more active role by using their power with respect for the interests of the team - but also for employees to take responsibility and speak out against poor management and poor working conditions.
In other words, this is not a manual for managers – or employees for that matter – but a provocation of and reflection on the shared responsibility that exists in an organization for leadership to function. And the book proposes a revolutionary approach: Leadership and power (and the leader) must exist for the good of the community.
At this event, putDennis Normark focus on:
- What leadership looks like today and the developments taking place in the leadership landscape
- A review of the leadership crises we experience – and why they arise
- How we can be inspired by jungle and chieftain leadership
- Case examples and good advice for both employees and managers
On the day you will also have the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book with a 40% discount.
Should your boss also be a leader – or do you want to help put the community in focus?
Register now and look forward to a thought-provoking morning where we will use anecdotes, case examples and interactions to challenge the status quo and inspire new ways of thinking about management.
