DEI as a Design Principle – A Case from Danske Bank

As the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) becomes increasingly strategic, Danish organizations face the challenge of turning ambitions into concrete actions. DEI must not be just an isolated initiative—it needs to be embedded in the core of the company’s strategy and daily operations.

Danske Bank has adopted DE&I as a design principle within Group HR, integrating these values into scalable HR processes to ensure a stronger anchoring of DE&I across the Group, including in decision-making.

Design thinking focuses on prioritizing employee experience and creating solutions that are engaging, intuitive, and effective. Committed to integrating DE&I in its operations, Danske Bank leverages a data-driven approach and collaborates closely with HR Partners, business units, and employee networks to drive strategic initiatives and foster an inclusive environment. This approach can boost productivity and employee satisfaction, while ensuring that DEI becomes an integrated part of the ongoing organizational development.

What can you expect from this webinar?

Layanna Martin will shed light on Danske Bank’s approach to DE&I, offering a closer look at the strategic considerations and practical implementations involved. She will discuss what the bank aims to achieve through these initiatives, providing insights into how DE&I is embedded as a design principle.

Together we will explore:

  • Danske Bank’s governance structure for DE&I and how DE&I is integrated into operations.
