Future of Work (online)

The nature of work is changing. Work during the pandemic has shed new light on the opportunities of remote work and more and more organizations are introducing new and more flexible working conditions. In addition, the digital transformation is still replacing and redefining jobs and influencing career architecture, roles, and responsibilities in the organizations. At this NOCA event we look at what we need to know about the future of work.

What do we need to consider about new ways of working?

At this NOCA event we take a glance at new ways of working on both a tactical and a strategic level. We will hear two practical cases from Kromann Reumert and Chr Hansen on how they have introduced their new ways of working following the pandemic. We will get insight into concrete examples of how to change work structures and hear their approach to handling potential future challenges for organizing work.

In addition, Associate Professor from CBS Michael Pedersen will, based on research within the area of self-management, give us an introduction to what we need to consider when we change how we work. What are the red flags? And what does it really take to change work habits?

Lastly, we have invited Ravin Jesuthasan, Global thought leader, futurist, and author on the Future of Work topic to talk about how we on a strategic level can identify and create roles of the future. The overall question is how can we enable our workforce and organization to be future ready?

Birgitte Brix Bendtsen, Head of People & Development, Kromann Reumert.

Birgitte has been working as Head of People & Development at Kromann Reumert since 2015. Prior to this role Birgitte has held strategic HR positions at both Vestas and Ørsted and has also been Head of Universum in Denmark. At this event Birgitte will introduce us to elements of Kromann Reumerts balance and flexibility policy that have had a significant impact on worklife in the organisation. In addition, Birgitte will share input from organisational workforce studies done during covid-19 and take us through some of the decisions made regarding new ways of working.

Alice Larsen, Corporate Vice President of Human Resources, Chr. Hansen.

Since 2016, Alice Larsen has been heading up Global Human Resources at Chr. Hansen. Prior to joining Chr. Hansen, Alice was the founder and owner of the New Day Company – a consulting firm located in Zurich and Copenhagen focusing on organizational transformation and development. Alice has also worked out of Zürich at Barry Callebaut AG (CHRO) and as HR VP for Region Europe at Novo Nordisk. At this event, Alice will share insights on New Ways Of Working at Chr. Hansen. What were the decisions taken regarding returning to work after Covid? What are the challenges of a global organization? and what are the learnings so fare? Alice will also share her reflections on how we as HR Professionals can support our organizations in navigating different workforce trends and external factors going forward.

Michael Pedersen, Associate Professor, PHD, Copenhagen Business School.

Michael has been working at the Department of Management, Politics, and Philosophy at CBS since 2004. Michael’s research and teaching primarily revolve around two themes. How to manage self-managing employees, teams, and organizations and the importance of habit for change management, HRM, and companies with a four day work week. At this event, Michael will talk about what we need to consider when we change the way we work. From the strategic purpose of such changes to the dilemmas, they raise in our hurly-burly work life? His talk will in particular focus on five points of attention we need to consider in our efforts to make new ways of working ingrained as lasting habits?

Ravin Jesuthasan, Global leader of Transformation at Mercer.

Ravin has lead numerous research projects for the World Economic Forum including its ground-breaking studies; Shaping the Future Implications of Digital Media for Society, Creating a Shared Vision for Talent in the 4th Industrial Revolution and HR 4.0: Shaping People Strategies in the 4th Industrial Revolution. He has been recognized as one of the top 8 future of work influencers by Tech News, one of the top 100 HR influencers by HR Executive and was named to the Thinkers 50 Radar Class of 2020. Ravin is also the author of several books and a frequent guest lecturer at universities around the world including Oxford University, Northwestern University and the University of Southern California.
