Global competences and cultural intelligence

03. December 2013
kl. 10.00 - 15.00

Global HR Forum focuses on the added complexity that global aspects add to HR challenges.  The next meeting on the 3rd December 2013 will discuss the need for global competences and cultural intelligence and what companies and HR can do to improve this.

Our host for this meeting will be IDA – The Engineers Association in Denmark. Denmark is part of a global market that develops very rapidly. The need for “global competences” is an indisputable fact for as good as all knowledge workers and so also for the engineers that IDA represents. It is a fact

  • that 23% of all engineers in Denmark are employed in companies with non-Danish owners,
  • that 2/3 of engineers in the private sector has non-Danish colleagues
  • that almost 60% of engineer heavy companies employs non-Danish knowledge workers.

IDA will help ensuring that Danish engineers and international engineers working in Denmark possesses the necessary global competences when they want to pursue a career that involves international/ global cooperation. As a result IDA has put “Cultural Intelligence” high on the agenda and on IDA TV where three learning films are made available in cooperation with Living Institute. (see the videos here)

IDA has looked into what competences are the most asked for on the global market, looking forward towards 2020, and will present the results of this research and the above films in this meeting. As this is without doubt on the agenda in most Danish companies – also those that are not based on engineering – we invite you to join us in these very interesting discussions.
