AoM 2014 in Philadelphia
1st - 5th August 2014
(+ 6-7 August)
"The Power of Words"

philadelphia

Planning for the summer semester has of course been going on for a long time - but what about planning your own professional update?

Come with NOCA to the Academy of Management conference in the USA and choose over five days between 1500 lectures, workshops, presentations etc., all of which are characterized by the latest professional development. Participate in daily dialogues with other NOCA participants about how the professional inspiration can turn into concrete actions in your organization.
Philadelphia is also a wonderful conference city!
With the conference center and hotels located in the center next to the city's large market hall, there are ample opportunities for professional immersion as well as cultural and holiday experiences.
In addition to Philadelphia, you have the opportunity to be in Manhattan in New York within two hours.

What do you get out of participating?
• Professional update on management and HR at the year's most important international conference.
• New knowledge – the conference is research-heavy, but very communication-oriented.
• Opportunity to reverse the theoretical inputs from the conference through reflection and learning after each conference day with practitioners and researchers.
• Strengthened network through close dialogue with Danish and foreign participants about professional and business challenges.
• 2 extra NOCA days after the conference, where together we visit well-known, international companies based in Philadelphia and are inspired by their way of conducting HR.

Why participate through NOCA?
NOCA arranges all the practical matters (transport excepted) and ensures that meetings - before - during - and after the conference are characterized by professionalism, immersion and dialogue, which provides inspiration for measures in practice!
During the last 10 years, NOCA has organized joint participation in the AOM conference.

NOCA's extra days
After the conference, we will spend another two days in Philadelphia (August 6-7), where we will visit well-known companies. After attending AoM, we will be inspired by how other organizations conduct HR. The planning of the two extra days is under way and we must, among other things, visit the University of Pennsylvania's Open Course Initiative. We expect to be able to present several companies in mid-March. Philadelphia offers many interesting companies, so you can safely count on NOCA's extra days being worth taking.

Price
AoM with extra days: DKK 25.000 (recommended)
AoM without extra days: DKK 21.000
AoM with extra days for non-NOCA members: DKK 31.000

Practical matters:

We recommend that departure towards Denmark takes place at the earliest on 7 August in the evening, when the NOCA days become particularly interesting.

The NOCA members say:
"Reflecting on today's input at AOM with the NOCA team gives great professional benefit. Exciting discussions arise, you get to multiply the benefits of the sessions by at least two.”
Sine Sunesen, National Association of Municipalities

"I have participated in the AOM conference a number of times - each time together with NOCA.
The conference provides good inspiration for new angles and themes that I can bring home and put into play in everyday life. At the same time, AOM gives me a personal development space and the opportunity to reflect on my own leadership – something that is easy to neglect when you are busy working with the organisation's development.
Participation in AOM together with NOCA gives something extra. Our debriefings of a few hours every day after "school time" provide a unique opportunity to exchange and network with other peers, and you get to catch up on some of the sessions you didn't have the opportunity to participate in yourself. Good professional discussions and links between theory and practice are always an essential part of these debriefings. At the same time, as participants together with NOCA, we get to talk through the program well before the conference starts, which is a big advantage, especially if you are a first-time participant at AOM.”
Kent Zaulich, Head of Department, HRD, BRFkredit
