Do DEI initiatives end in discrimination? (Online)

There is no doubt that the intention behind DEI initiatives is to create the best framework for specially protected groups in the workplace. But is there a risk that the many initiatives could backfire legally?
Based on the legal perspective, we ask the question at this NOCA meeting:

What is the risk when we lay off employees?

DEI - NOCA

Many organizations work with employee resource groups that aim to improve conditions for minority groups in the workplace. But is there sufficient focus on ensuring that the work takes place in a way that is, in relation to the legislation, appropriate? That action is taken if the projects do not proceed as planned? Do we risk other employee groups feeling discriminated against and disregarded when HR chooses to focus on specially selected initiatives? Can we measure the impact of the DEI initiatives being implemented without stepping aside in terms of legislation?

At this NOCA meeting, together with an expert from one of Europe's leading law firms in the field, we will discuss possible legal pitfalls and problems that may arise as a consequence of commendable DEI initiatives. We must of course continue our focus on DEI initiatives, but we must do so with a greater awareness that not all initiatives are unproblematic.
