Employee Engagement: Do satisfaction surveys kill motivation and initiative?
If one of HR's noblest tasks is employee engagement, how should we, as HR professionals, tackle the task of creating the framework for employees to engage and at the same time measure whether we have managed to solve the task or not? And what unintended consequences, whether we use surveys, satisfaction surveys or something else, does the way we measure engagement have?
Come with NOCA to this network meeting, where Ph.d. and philosopher specializing in questions, Pia Lauritzen, will reveal the strengths and weaknesses of questionnaires and open our eyes to the "side effects" that questionnaires also have. She will also give us some concrete tips on how we can ensure that our surveys do not strain the work to create more engagement.
CEO & Founder of Qvest.io, Marie Mathiesen, will introduce us to the Qvest tool and give us the opportunity to test the question-driven tool, which is designed to create engagement among employees.
We will also be visited by HR development partner, Louise K. Sebenius, who will guide us through the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration's work with the Qvest tool. In connection with the preparation of a new business strategy in the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, Qvest was used as part of an overall involvement process, where both managers and employees had to be consulted via various involvement activities.
Louise will give us an insight into how the tool first ran in the management group under the heading 'A new strategy'. Here, the data was to be used at a strategy seminar for the strategic management. Two months later, they used the tool throughout the agency under the heading 'One of Denmark's best public workplaces'. Data was to be used for the part of the strategy that concerns the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration as a workplace.
This network meeting is for you who would like to learn more about the methods for measuring and creating engagement in your company. You will gain research-based knowledge and concrete cases that will give you new perspectives on one of the most central topics for HR – namely employee engagement.
