Create the best framework for your employees on maternity leave

How do we give our employees on maternity leave the best conditions for success?

All organizations experience at one time or another that one of their employees has to go on maternity leave. But how do we best deal with a colleague suddenly having to be away for up to 52 weeks?

Create the best framework for employees on maternity leave - NOCA

What is the employer's role and options in these situations, and what do we do if it is a blended family, an adoptive family, a family with two mothers, two fathers or a single parent? And once they are out, how do we successfully get them back in?

If this is also relevant for you and your organisation, then take part in this network meeting. The day will offer both a legal and practical insight into which measures and initiatives you can work with to make working life and family life fit together for both employees and the organisation.

Speakers:

Anne Sophie Münster, the woman behind 'Inspired Beyond Babies', makes professional networking activities for parents on maternity leave. She describes maternity as an overlooked opportunity for talent development and care and will contribute with a presentation on how the business world and society in general should begin to regard the period as an investment instead of an economic hindrance. Maternity leave is a key issue in relation to issues such as equality, career development and the combination of working life and family life. This is precisely why we must talk about development when we talk about maternity!

Yvonne Frederiksen, Partner at Norrbom Vinding, Denmark's leading law firm within labor and employment law. She will take us through the legal aspects and implications and, among other things, focus on:

  • How to make a maternity policy inclusive of all family types and at the same time ensure that it complies with the rules on maternity and parental leave.
  • What you need to pay particular attention to legally when an employee is going on maternity leave or returning from maternity leave.
  • What other companies have done. What works/ what doesn't work?

LEGO System A/S will also contribute with a post about their ongoing Baby Project, where the goal is a better experience for employees as parents-to-be, both before, during and after childbirth. They will also share their experiences of integrating different family types into projects

Deloitte will talk about their 'Happy Parents' initiative, which means that men and women receive increased attention from management through structured dialogue before, during and after their maternity leave.

Employees are also offered coaching before and during maternity leave, as well as a course of five group coaching sessions when they return.

In addition, managers carry out training on how to best support employees during this time in their careers.
