Education and Learning Reconsidered
How do we design learning and training locally and integrated with work?
According to the Institute For The Future in Palo Alto, education and work will merge in the future. We no longer want to educate first and then work. We will start the work immediately and continuously educate ourselves along with the work. Digitization will both enable and demand that we move learning very close to work.
Companies are experiencing an increased need for employees and managers to take responsibility for their own learning. And so that they can apply what they have learned and translate it into new results. That the content can be designed and delivered, preferably with the help of pull, quickly and agilely based on local needs - now and here.
In this trend, Udacity is a pioneer. They offer online nano-degrees in skills that large Tech companies urgently need. This ensures both the relevance and application of what has been learned.
Digitization enables us to rethink learning and education. The process is already underway in many companies and educational institutions. Join us as we hear about two very different initiatives in the area.
- KEA Kompetence's work with new didactic designs, including using ICT, digital teaching aids and online learning activities, so that the student's learning comes closer to their practice and creates optimal value for the student and their own company. But what dilemmas and challenges arise? And what considerations must be made in relation to the deep reflection as part of the students' learning? And how can we preserve the education that forms part of a longer continuing education course?
- In June 2018, Novo Nordisk presented the 'Netflix of learning' - ROAD - at a NOCA event. Come and hear the latest results and experiences of Novo Nordisk's journey into the digital learning world, where self-directed learning, work and flexibility merge.
We use today's two cases to discuss our own and others' ideas and challenges and try to find new ways and solutions together.
