Confronting Workplace Harassment & Discrimination

11. oktober 2023
kl. 09.00 - 10.00  CET

Deep-rooted issues of sexism and racism are still present today in our rapidly evolving society and organizations. It is crucial that we dare to face and actively address these issues.

We invite you to join us for a webinar where we will delve into these pressing concerns that have been put on the agenda by powerful movements such as #MeToo and Black Lives Matter. They have served as catalysts for social change in society and our organizations, reminding us of the undeniable presence of discrimination and the urgent need for collective action on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion agenda.

Extensive research demonstrates that harassment and discrimination are barriers that hinder the progress of marginalized employees in their career development. These forms of mistreatment can even force individuals to leave the workplace altogether. The consequences and costs of such experiences are staggering. It impacts not only the mental and physical well-being of individuals in the organizations but also burdens organizations with talent loss, less productivity and innovation as well as higher costs due to sick leave.

We are privileged to have Dr. Bontu Lucie Guschke (she/her) join us on this webinar. Dr. Guschke will shed light on the subtle mechanisms that create conditions of sexist and racist harassment and discrimination within our workplaces.

Join us to gain a deeper understanding of the following:

  • The profound impact of harassment and discrimination on marginalized employees’ careers, as well as the consequential costs for both individuals and organizations.
  • Exploring how subtle experiences and the silence surrounding harassment and discrimination create conditions for it to continue.
  • Examining the difficult emotional challenges involved in prevention and reporting, challenging the notion that “just speaking up” is a simple solution.
  • Discovering practical implications for organizational practices.

By actively engaging in this webinar, you will not only enhance your knowledge of these critical issues but also contribute to fostering inclusive and equitable workplaces for all individuals. Join us as we work towards a better future, one that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
